organza/lace flower pins

These are vintage flower pins I made using organza/lace/netting and even some feathers. My friend, Linda, (momentsinaneye.blogspot.com) told me how to make these. I, of course, had to put my own spin to them. Some of these were added into some friends Christmas gifts as a bonus. Just wanted to share. Hope you have a blessed 2012.

Freshwater pearl station necklace and bracelet

Christmas is around the corner, and I have been busy trying to finish up some little gifts. This freshwater pearl station necklace with coordinating bracelet will be one. I bought these pearls earlier this year and couldn't decide how I wanted to string them. I finally decided to make this design that is a modern, updated pearl necklace verses the classic strand of pearls. Merry Christmas.

Keepsake boxes update

Hello fellow bloggers;

I have had several people ask me "how did I make these boxes?"  Well to be honest, I did not make them per sea, I did however, have these blank chipboard boxes that I purchased a few years back that I painted and embellished to match each book.
Happy creating,
Debbie:)

Vintage Santa domino book and keepsake box

I must say that I was totally inspired by Laura Carson's little domino books that I wanted to make some for gifts this Christmas. If these look like something you would love to try, please stop by Artfully Musing. Laura not only has wonderful eye candy, but you will find the tutorial for these little books as well as other great stuff. (see her blog button to the right)

A full Moon rises low in the night sky.
It's eerie light cast shadowy shapes here and there.
Though your heart beats fast, you are sure to swoon....

Double, double toil and trouble
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes!

Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog.
Adders fork, and blind worm's sting. Lizard's leg and owlets wing...
Brewed for a potion to make you scream.
Do not fear, for tonight is HALLOWEEN!

And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
on the pallid bust just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him is streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted-nevermore. E. Poe

Fall/Halloween Decor

I love decorating for this time of year, so what better than some outdoor decor I made.
The door wreath, is strictly for Fall, but the wreath on the entry way wall can be changed using different seasonal sprigs/picks.

Halloween Altered Canvas

I attended another terrific art class done at my local paper arts store. This time Lisa, the designer, came up with a altered canvas, Halloween style. The unusual thing about this canvas is that we altered the back side of the canvas instead of the front which makes a
self frame for your project. That concept was so foreign to me since I am a painter I would have never considered turning it around. Duh.

Halloween Configuration Box

I had some fun today. I took a class at my local paper arts store to make this Halloween box. Lisa, the designer did a frightfully awesome job! Of course I added my own personal touch to truly make it my own. I added one of my beaded spiders, suspended from her web down one side, the paper clay skull, and a few other small touches. Down the middle is the words "Creepy" in black which makes it hard to see. Anyway it was such fun to do, I absolutely LOVE it!

Beaded spiders

I saw some spiders made out of beads last year at my local bead store. So I went online and googled how to make them. Here are my results. You can make any size, once you figure out how to make them. If you like them, I hope you can get a tutorial so you can make them for yourself. Great for jewelry or Halloween embellihments.

MHF Halloween Tag Swap

Well, here they are as promised. It took me forever it seems, to get these done. Mostly from life getting in the way. When I get on a roll, I could sit and create all week! I did a varity of mediums. All are the old "cut and paste", even the photoshop and stamped ones. I like the deminsion. And I added at least one or more deminsional embellishments. (some are on the back) Would like to know what you think!
